Google Web Accelerator breaks Windows XP Network Places

May 15 2005

I’m uninstalling Google’s Web Accelerator as I type, as I just found it breaks Windows XP Network Places, specifically over Front Page Server Extensions or WebDAV.  There’s probably a way to disable it for the addresses in question, but I’ve been more and more skeeved out by the general principal of the product, so away it goes.  It certainly made some sites I visit quite a bit quicker, especially those that are especially graphically intense, but I don’t think it’s worth it…
