Mandy’s birthday just passed (the 2nd) and for that most special of days, I gave her a brand new Garmin GPS V. She’s always getting lost (and I can’t blame her, Westchester and the surrounding area is crazy weird) and I thought it would be fun. I picked it up from Amazon and she’s loved it since it arrived. The real kicker though is GeoCaching. It’s kind of like a giant worldwide treasure hunt. People hide caches all over the place and then publish the GPS coordinates for others to find. Today, we went to the Headless Horseman cache in nearby Sleepy Hollow. It was the first cache we’ve actually found (we tried this one with chet and jackie, but couldn’t find it) and it was a ton of fun. We’re definitely going to keep hunting. More later…

Ooooooo… Just found a nice optimization tool for a web site. Give it a page and it’ll tell you how your page is doing. Fantastic!

Check out this vest! For anyone with too many tech toys, this could be a god send. I’m saying I want one (it reminds me of the Members Only jackets from the ’80s), but it’s certainly neat. Combine this with those Dockers network pants and you’re all set to carry anything you need.

A neat application of the Processing toolset comes in the form of a Zombie infection simulation from Kevan Davis. Be sure to check out the rework by Matt Cordes. Both are excellent.
