Architecting the future

Dear The Internet, please refrain from using the word “architect” as a verb. It’s driving me insane. You cannot “architect” something. You do not “re-architect” a product. Please hire copy editors and stop sounding like idiots.

Of course, if you didn’t sound like idiots, you wouldn’t be The Internet.

Others share my pain:

Dear Santa, I just want a new Point-and-Shoot

It just happens to be this one. It’s such a decision. New car or new camera? I’d need a loan for either…

We were young and we needed the money

Oh my, how times have changed. Hey Mitch, the guy who’s going to destroy your company? The baby-faced one to your right. Just so ya know.

And remember, with Macintosh, you can design your own font faces if you don’t like the ones supplied and illustrate your own illustrations!

Sony’s Rootkit

It’s been a very interesting week for Sony, BMG and the internet in general. If you havn’t been following the story of how certain Sony CDs install a rootkit on your computer, go catch up. It’s pretty frightening.

More frightening has been Sony’s response to the situation. I can
understand that they want to protect their works, but the method in
which they’ve gone about it leaves much to be desired.

Update: The EFF has an interesting piece on the EULA that comes with the SONY-BMG compact discs. What a nightmare.

Dbeunknig teh mtyh

Remember that wacky paragraph that went around the internet a while ago with all the weirdly misspelled words? It turns out it’s probably not true.

I totally bought it.
