This one from Aimee Mann’s ‘Nightmare Girl’: “things are getting
weirder at the speed of light.” Things are actually pretty sane right now, for
the first time in quite a long time. Hopefully the sanity sticks around for
a while. *chuckle*
The Scientist
I think a line from Coldplay’s song ‘The Scientist’ sums up my current
project at work nicely:
“Nobody said it was easy, but no one ever said it would be so hard.”
Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, but good lord, this stuff has been hard lately.
Who knew porting what looks like a pretty simple ASP app to ASP.NET could be so challenging?
A large part of it is that I’m changing the application to support better principles…
but wow. I’m going to swamped until March.
Where should I go on vacation when I get done?
santa brought me music
Santa decided to bring my some new music for Christmas: first off, the Back
To Mine albums by Tricky and Underworld.
Tricky’s album is quite diverse and not at all what I expected. It features
everything from The Beat’s ‘Mirror in the Bathroom’ to Chet Baker’s
‘My Funny Valentine’ to Eric B & Rakim’s ‘My Melody’.
Weirdly enough, it really works as an album. I’m really digging on the
re-emergence of mix tapes in a more mainstream venue.
While I was home, my cousins asked me what kind of music I listen to, and I gave the
typical “a little bit of everything” response. I’ll try to
make that a bit more concrete on here and post of bad reviews of the stuff I like
and why. As a start, anything in the Back To Mine collection is probably something
I’d like.
This is a test post from NewsGator, inside Outlook2003.
Test.
If only I loved Canada
Chet just showed me a fantastic billboard ad by EA Canada. I wish my company had fantastic advertising like this.
